Malaysia Deports 81 Indonesian Migrant Workers | The Jakarta Globe
Nunukan, East Kalimantan. The Malaysian Government deported a total of 81 migrant workers from palm-oil plantations in Kinabalu in the Sabah region of Malaysia on Friday, after being held for three months at a detention center, according to the Indonesian consulate.
 
The migrant workers were arrested for not having their passports, according to Nurhadi, a staff member at the Indonesian consulate in Tawau, Sabah. The workers were deported through the Tunon Taka, sea-port in Nunukan, East Kalimantan, according to Nurhadi, after they were held at the Menggatal detention center in Malaysia. 
Nurhadi said three of the 81 people were adults, 15 were female and 61 were male. Most of the workers were employed at palm-oil plantations, according to officials. 
The workers arrived at the Tunon Taka, sea-port, Nunukan in East Kalimantan late on Friday.
